The Tale of Two Americas: In Trump we trust?

From jump, this election season has been the most bizarre in my lifetime — by a Yuuuge margin. Word. We are knee deep in an election campaign in which appealing to voter’s primal fears seems to TRUMP (pun well intended) logic, truth, humanity and dignity.

Scores of disaffected working class and poor white voters have been shamelessly seduced into supporting the otherism campaign by the ultimate con-man Donald Trump.

Feeling the terror scare: Blame and ban all those swarthy colored people from the Middle-East; Feeling anxious about your job: Blame the brown people from Latin America; Feeling concerned about law and order: Blame those Black Lives Matter people.

And the outlandish con game shows no signs of abatement.

Take you pick of the absurd.

First up: Mini-Me Trump — Donald will never need a DNA test to prove Jr. is all his — instead of expressing empathy for the Syrian refugee crisis, Jr. compares those suffering unimaginable hardship to skittles.

Wrigley, the makers of Skittles, arguably issued the classiest rebuke:

“Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don’t feel it’s an appropriate analogy. We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing.

And in an effort to attract the African-American vote — in an all white rally  — Trump offers his fact challenged historical analysis on State of Black America

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, in his outreach to black voters, frequently describes their lives as if they are living in some sort of hellscape.

And on Tuesday evening at an event in North Carolina, Trump painted perhaps the bleakest picture yet of conditions for black Americans. “Our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape that they’ve ever been in before, ever, ever, ever,” he said. “You get no education, you get no jobs, you get shot walking down the street.”

Forever ever, ever, Trump?

  • Forget the kidnapping and Middle-passage shackled in the bows of slave ships.
  • Forget about over 4oo years of the worst forms of chattel slavery the world has ever, ever, ever seen.
  • Forget about the reconstruction era’s reign of terror unleashed by rebel confederates (Birth of the Nation KKK types) angry about the so-called emancipation of their human property.
  • Let’s not mention sharecropping, Jim Crow, American Apartheid, federal governments war against black communities disguised as the war against drugs.

Make no mistake. No BS, no spin, no hyperbole: This election is a referendum on which America our country wants. Do we become Dystophialand that is imagined in the dark cellars of Trump’s paranoia; Or, to we continue the path of Perfecting our Union.
