Ms Wendy Williams in her own words:
“I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP,” Williams said when commenting on Jesse Williams’ BET Awards speech last week
After gossip queen Wendy Williams’ obviously Worst Week Ever! stemming from her tone deaf and uninformed comments –please Wendy stick to celebrity gossip — she has agreed to sit down with one of her fiercest critic, Radio One’s Roland Martin to further discuss race on her show.
In light of the criticism and heightened racial relations of today, Wendy Williams has made an effort to invite Martin to The Wendy Williams Show to continue the discussion on race. He will join her face to face Thursday (July 14). “He’s educated me quite a bit and I hope you can do the same for all of us and we can begin to heal and stop,” she said.
Martin publicly took Wendy to the proverbial woodshed by stating:
“I really am tired of these wannabe Stacy Dashes who clearly don’t bother to actually read a book,” he began before proceeding to give the media personality a lesson in Black History 101.
Martin shifted his focus to HBCUs after inWendy Williams’ race comments reportedly costing her endorsement dealsforming Williams that white people have been active members of the NAACP since its inception (the first NAACP president was a white man). “One of the reasons you don’t have historically white universities is because we just simply call them universities.
This should make good TV. No doubt Wendy probably invited him because her ill advised comments have cost her heavily in endorsements.
